Boarding Services in Fort Myers, FL
In addition to our full range of medical and dental health services, Fort Myers Veterinary Hospital
also offers reliable boarding services
for your pet. Our facilities are air conditioned and we have separate rooms for dogs and cats. We also provide an enclosed play area that is supervised. We monitor the food and water intake of each pet that boards with us and can provide you with any abnormalities in behavior.
Reservations are highly recommended and should be made well in advance especially during school vacation time and holidays.
Vaccinations
For the safety of all pets in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
Dogs
Dogs are required to have proof of a negative intestinal parasite screen within 6 months prior to the boarding check-in date. We require current Rabies, DHPP, Influenza and Bordetella vaccines.
Cats
Cats are required to have proof of a negative intestinal parasite screen within 6 months prior to the boarding check-in date. We require current Rabies and FVRCP vaccines.
Full veterinary services are available while your pet is boarding with us.
Boarding Requirements
If have any previous vaccine history for your pet, please provide us with a copy prior to your boarding check-in date. For the protection of your pet and our kennel, we require a dose of flea and tick medication to have been applied to your pet within the last two weeks, prior to boarding. If one of these products has not been applied within the last two weeks, we will apply a dose. We will also check your pet for any fleas and ticks upon arrival. If any are found, your pet will be treated and you will be charged.
• Diet
We do provide Science Diet Sensitive Stomach food for our boarders. If you would like us to provide a prescription diet, please let us know in advance.
• Medications
Please provide us with a list of your pets medications when you make your boarding appointment. Be prepared to provide the medication when you bring your pet in. Usual and customary charges apply accordingly if you do not provide the needed medication for your pet.
• Rates
You will be charged the day your pet comes in and the day they leave, regardless of the time of day your pet is dropped off or picked up from us. For dogs, we provide a complimentary bath at the day of discharge. For cats, we will provide a complimentary brushing as long as they tolerate it well. We will provide a nail trim and ear flush at an additional fee if you choose.
• Personal Items
We provide any bedding, toys, food and dishes your pet may need at no extra cost to you. You are welcome to bring these items from home, if preferred. If your pet is on a prescription diet, we highly recommend you bring the food with you.
